Interesting piece on the ketogenic diet as a useful therapy for epilepsy in children last night on Channel 4. Although it's also interesting that they did a similar experiment to the one Dr Tanya Byron did previously with giving children junk food/sugar and seeing how they react, and got different results. Dr Byron found that sugar does not necessarily cause hyperactivity - the effect of eating party food or sweets is more about the situation than pure sugar=cause hyperactivity=effect, whereas on last night's programme they were convinced that children eating the "healthier" options showed calmer behaviour.
